1. The Content Filter (YouTube & Google)
The algorithm is ruthless. It analyzes video titles, channel names, and search results. If it detects your native language, it hides it. You want to watch YouTube? Fine, but you have to watch it in your target language. You want to search for a recipe? You’ll have to read it in your target language.
2. No Escape Hatches
- Text Blur: It blurs sections of native language text on web pages, reminding you not to read them.
- Block Translator: It disables the easy “Right click -> Translate to English” feature. No shortcuts.
- Block Input: It stops you from typing in your native language during searches.
3. Frictionless Learning
When you are actually struggling, it helps you instantly.
- Dictionary Lookup: Select a word for an instant definition.
- Anki Export: Save that word to your flashcards with one click.
Force Your Own Hand
Willpower is a finite resource. You shouldn’t rely on it. Immersive Mode outsources your willpower to code. It creates an environment where using your target language is the only option.
